Orthodontics is the area of dentistry concerned with the treatment of improper bites resulting from irregularity in tooth position and disproportionate jaw relationships. From the Greek word ‘orthos‘, meaning ‘straight or proper’, orthodontic treatment more often concerns itself with the displacement of teeth. The most well known orthodontic treatment is the provision of braces.

The reasons for undergoing such treatment are often motivated by a patient’s aesthetic goals, however treatment will also focus on the functionality in combination with the appearance of the teeth.

A clear aligner technology also available at MADC. Used for a shorter period of time for smaller movements and rotation of teeth.
