LaserBrite Tooth Whitening

In surgery teeth whitening is one of the many technologies introduced into Australia by our principal dentist, Dr Yvonne King. The Laserbrite whitening system (known as LumaArch in the USA) is a non-laser whitening system, capable of whitening teeth up to 10 shades in as little as one hour.

How does it work?

Laserbrite works using a combination specific forumlua of hydrogen peroxide, activated by a specially developed light emmitting diode (LED) lightsource. The process ensures an optimal bandwidth and wavelength of light accelerates the photochemical breakdown of the whitening formula and removal of stains.

The LaserBrite light travels through a liquid filled transmitter, creating a cool and comfortable experience for the patient.

You might have seen similar whitening solutions offered in shopping centres or in beauty salons, but you must consider the serious risks inherent in such treatments. Often these providers have no dental training, and only limited ability in assessing true suitability for whitening. The results can be extremely painful chemical burns to the gum, permanent damage to tooth enamel, sensitivity, and probably least concerning, an unsatisfactory whitening result.

Painless Teeth Whitening

The LaserBrite system is usually painless, however a very small number of patients have reported experiencing minor tingling immediately following the treatment. This sensation is only temporary and is normally resolved by applying a fluride gel we can provide to you.
